FMU: First-year player at FMU....Transfer from Spartanburg Methodist College....JUCO teammate of Daniel Bridges....An outstanding defensive guard....Has the ability to knock down shots.....Shot over 50% from behind the three-point line this past season at SMC....Elevates on his jumper like his cousin, former FMU great Evrik Gary....Will be a solid player for us and a pleasure to coach....SMC: This past season, averaged 6.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.2 assists per game (with more assists than turnovers), while helping the Pioneers to a 26-7 record and an appearance in the NJCAA National Tournament....Connected on 51.4 percent of his shots, including 50.6 percent from behind the three-point arc, and shot 72.2 percent at the foul line.....As a freshman, he tallied 3.0 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.3 rebounds per game....SMC is coached by Jon Cremins, nephew of former Division I coaching legend Bobby Cremins.

PERSONAL: Born Joshua Jaleel Council in Columbia, S.C.....A graduate of Camden High School, where he played under the direction of head coach Ron McKie Sr....Team's Offensive Player of the Year three times....Also lettered in football....Nickname is JayCee.
