Lequint Johnson Sr. begins his first season as an assistant coach with the Francis Marion University men’s basketball program.
A native of Florence, he earned associate’s degrees in both marketing and business management from Florence-Darlington Technical College and both a bachelor’s degree in business administration and master’s degree in business administration from Limestone University. He also attended FMU from 2011-2012, during which time he was a member of ROTC. Currently, he is working towards a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at Liberty University – where he recently completed a certificate in business administration with an emphasis in leadership during the summer of 2024.
He comes to FMU with years of youth sports experience. He also brings 13 years of dedicated service in the United States Army and South Carolina Army National Guard. Johnson was honorably retired as a Sergeant First Class (SFC) due to medical reasons.
A published author, Johnson has penned books titled Define Your Goal, Define Your Purpose, and How to Master Self-Discipline. He is also an active member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity, Inc.
His wife is an active-duty service member, and he has four children.
