PERSONAL:  Born Zachary Michael Hawkins in Lexington, S.C.....A product of Pelion high School, where he played for coach Barry Fogle....Batted .440 with five home runs and registered an 8-0 pitching mark with a 0.40 ERA and 83 strikeouts as a senior....2-time All-State and All-Region selection (2014, 2013)....2013 Region Player of the Year....2014 North/South Game participant....2013 team most valuable player....National Football Foundation Top Scholar-Athlete....Also lettered in basketball and football.
