• Born William Henry Taks in Columbia, SC
• Graduate of A.C. Flora High School, where he played under the direction of coach Andy Hallett
• As a senior, helped the Falcons to a 19-10 mark and an appearance in the AAA Upper State finals
• Earned 2015 Atlantic Region honorable mention recognition from Perfect Game
• Was 5-0 with one save on the mound as a junior as the Falcons won their third consecutive state title with a 28-4 mark
• Honor Roll student
