FMU:  First-year player at FMU....Has good arm strength in the outfield....Could have an opportunity to play at first base as well....Cannot wait to see what he is capable of in 2023.

  • Born Walker Howard Taylor in Beaufort, SC
  • Graduate of Thomas Heyward Academy, where he played for coach Leon Etheridge 
  • Also attended May River High School
  • Batted .237 in 2021 with eight RBIs
  • A fixture in the lineup and at first base during the Sharks’ run to the Class 4A district championship game
  • Over the 2021 summer, made the 17u WWBA All-Tournament Team and finished with a .436 batting average
  • Joins a list of FMU legacy signees as his father, J Taylor, played for the Patriots in 1999 and 2000 and later signed with the Toronto Blue Jays
  • Reunited with former May River teammate (and current FMU player) Jack Hegan
