Will Thompson

Will Thompson is entering his second season as an assistant baseball coach on the Francis Marion University staff.

Before joining the Patriot program, he spent three seasons as an assistant at USC Sumter, during which time the Fire Ants posted a 96-72 combined record and won the 2018 NJCAA Region X championship.  He served as the recruiting coordinator, hitting coach, and outfielders' coach.  He helped develop five Region X first-team All-Region selections as well as five Region X Gold Glove award winners.

Prior to USCS, Thompson was an assistant coach at Lenoir-Rhyne University.

As a summer coach, Thompson spent the 2016 summer coaching the Galion Graders in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, and in 2017 he was the head coach of the Woodstock River Bandits in the Valley League.

Thompson played two seasons at USC Sumter and was a part of the 2014 Region X Championship team. He also played two seasons at Lenoir-Rhyne, where he earned a B.A. degree in sports management in 2016.
