A former Patriot first baseman, Trey Chapman is in his second season as an assistant on the Francis Marion staff.

A native of Hampton, Ga., he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing in 2019.  He played the 2017 and 2018 seasons with the Patriots.  As a senior he batted .261 in 45 games with 27 runs scored, eight doubles, four home runs, 31 runs batted in, and a .348 on-base percentage.  In 2017, he appeared in 44 contests with a .230 average, one homer, 11 RBIs, and a .358 on-base percentage.  He was named to the FMU Swamp Fox Athletic-Academic Honor Roll for four semesters and to the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll in 2018. 

Chapman also attended Southern Union State Community College, where he hit .189 with a homer and 15 RBIs in 2016 and batted .341 with 16 RBIs in 2015. He was an honorable mention All-Conference selection as a freshman.

He is a product of Luella High School, where he garnered All-State and Region Player of the Year honors as a senior.

During the summers of 2016 and 2018, he served as an assistant coach and hitting coach with OTC Baseball & Batting Cages, working with 16-and-under squads.
