Josh Eachues

Josh Eachues begins his second year as an assistant coach with the Francis Marion University baseball program. His responsibilities include working in the areas of hitting and fielding, as well as recruiting.

Prior to joing the FMU staff, Eachues served as an assistant coach at USC Sumter for the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, the latter of which included an appearance in the 2015 NJCAA World Series.

A native of Newberry, he attended and played at both Coastal Carolina University and USC Aiken, earning his undergraduate degree in exercise and sports science from USCA.

Following his collegiate playing career, he played in the South Coast (Independent Professional) League  for both the Aiken Foxhounds and the South Georgia Peanuts.  Eachues signed with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008 and palyed in the Gulf Coast League in Clearwater, Fla.  He later played two seasons of professional baseball with the Washington Wild Things in the Independent Frontier League, sandwiched around a season of winter ball in Australia.  He also coached an Under-19 team in Perth while playing winter ball.

He returned to the USCA baseball program and served as a volunteer assistant coach for four seasons until taking the position at USC Sumter.

His also own coaching experience as an assistant with the Outer Banks Daredevils in the Coastal Plains League and the Silver Spring (Md.) Thunderbolts of the Cal Ripken Collegiate Summer League.
At Coastal Carolina, he was a member of the first 50-win team in program history and the top seed at the NCAA Regional in Tempe, Ariz.  During his one playing season at USCA, Eachues was named to the 2007 Peach Belt Conference All-Tournament Team.
