FMU: First-year player at FMU....Transfer from Franklin Pierce University (but not play there)...Played two seasons at Harford Community College in Bel Air, Md....Expected to throw in the weekend rotation for the Patriots....Big power pitcher with a good sinker and slider....During 2016 summer, suited up for the Springfield Sliders of the Prospect College Summer League (3-0 with a 1.38 ERA in 27 innings)....HCC:  As a sophomore, went 4-0 with a 4.08 ERA while striking out 26 batters in 28.2 innings.....Appeared in eight games, with one complete game and one save as the Fighting Owls finished the season with a 43-15 record, including a school-best 24-2 mark against conference opponents, and won the Maryland JUCO regular-season title and made an appearance in the Region XX championship game....As a freshman, started 11 games, going 3-3 with a 5.21 ERA over 46.2 innings pitched....Fanned a total of 30 batters while Harford won the 2014 Region XX Championship.

PERSONAL:  Born Austin Joseph Griffie in Bridgeton, N.J....A graduate of Cumberland Regional High School, where he played for coach Sam Parks....Named to All-South Jersey team as a senior.....2013 All-Conference....2013 Northeast Region honorable mention accolades....Honor roll student....Nickname is Griff.
