Francis Marion University Athletics

FMU:  First-year player at FMU.....Transfer from Minnesota State University-Mankato, where she played one season (2018)....Earned a bachelor of science degree in child development and family studies from MSU-Mankato in May of 2022....Conference Carolinas All-Conference Team (third team) 2022....Her physical addition will be phenomenal for our middle position this coming season....Will have an immediate impact and has made our middle position intimidating.....Played at the highest of levels in Division II volleyball and has defended great college middles.....To bring that amount of physical ability and experience to our roster is extremely exciting....Ready to see how she does competing against our conference and region opponents....Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll 2022 (fall)....FMU Swamp Fox Athletic-Academic Honor Roll 2022 (fall), 2023 (spring).

MSU: During her freshman season (2018), appeared in 14 matches and averaged 0.30 kills and 0.50 blocks per set....Missed the next two seasons with a pair of injuries...Earned Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) All-Academic Team honors on multiple occasions.

• Graduate of Kuemper Catholic High School, where she played for coaches Keith Stickrod, Nicole Martin, and John Wagner
• Garnered All-Conference, All-Region, and All-State honors as a senior
• Averaging 2.67 kills, 1.75 digs, and 1.41 blocks per set with an astounding .506 hitting percentage in final prep season
• Helped her high school squad to a five-year record of 118-18
• Four-sport athlete, earning multiple letters in basketball, softball, and track, in addition to volleyball

• How you got your nickname: A little girl I used to babysit couldn’t pronounce my name, sounded like Kathy instead, stuck since 5th grade

• Favorite Thing About FMU:  The coaching staff and girls on the team are super welcoming and have a strong desire to win; the warm climate with little to no snow

• Why you first chose your sport: Decided freshman year of high school that I wanted to play volleyball instead of running cross country
• Biggest mental challenge in your sport: Playing each point individually and not focusing on mistakes made in prior points. 
• Interesting Notes:  Can say the alphabet faster backwards than most people can say it forward
