PERSONAL: Born DeAsia Monique Toney inHuntsville, Ala....A graduate of Hazel Green High School, where sheplayed for head coach Chad Hill....Four-year starter....Surpassed1,000 career assists.....Averaged 5.8 points, 7.1 assists, 4.2steals, and 3.4 rebounds as a junior when Hazel Green went 22-8 andreached the sub-region round....Earned 2011 All-Area honors and wasnamed to the Huntsville Times’ 2011 Elite Girls BasketballTeam (honorable mention)....Earned Miss Hustle Award....As asophomore, averaged 7.2 points, 6.3 assists, 3.6 steals, and 2.4rebounds and garnered All-County recognition as the Lady Trojansplaced third in the regionals with an 18-13 mark....Also played forthe Alabama Southern Starz program, and she helped their2012-Combined squad to the 2010 AAU D2 nationalchampionship.....Also ran track and placed in the top three in thesectionals for both the 100-meter dash and the longjump....Nickname is Dee.
