FLORENCE, SC –The Francis Marion University women's soccer program claimed back-to-back wins after overwhelming Barton College in a 4-0 shutout on Wednesday evening (Sept. 23) on Hartzler Field in a Conference Carolinas clash. Sophomore forward
Matea Bradfield continued to showcase her talents with four points (1 G, 2 A) in tonight's match.
Francis Marion improves its overall record to 5-3, 3-1 in league play while Barton falls to 5-3 overall, 3-2 in conference play. The next contest for FMU will be on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Emmanuel University with a 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
In the second half, FMU opened the floodgates with three goals, all from different Patriots, including graduate student forward

Georgia-Allen Aaron, and Bradfield, who sealed the contest with a final insurance goal.
Bradfield leads the Patriots in total points with 19 points on seven goals and five assists in 2026. The Evansville native advanced the ball into the box before passing it to junior forward
Isabella Fregoso, who would evade the goalkeeper and score in the bottom left corner for the opening goal in the 35th minute.
In the second half, freshman forward
Ava Grieves delivered a pass to Bradfield, who then sent it through to Dave'. She seized the one-on-one moment, beating the keeper and slotting a shot into bottom-right in the 47th minute. Dave' moves into ninth all-time with 72 total points with the Patriots (28 goals, 16 assists), while also moving into the top 10 all-time in goals scored.
Off the Patriot short-corner, the Bulldogs attempted to clear the ball, but Aaron stole the clearance pass and fired from 17 yards out into the top right corner at the 52:11 mark, her first goal of the season.
Dave' and Bradfield were on the same wavelength in pressuring the Barton backline. Dave' found Bradfield, who created her own space for a shot that was initially saved. Bradfield collected the rebound and beat the keeper in the bottom right corner in the 61st minute, 4-0.

Emma Erickson finished with three saves on four shots faced in 90 minutes.
The Patriots held a commanding 23-4 shot advantage while boasting a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
