Daniel Hussey have been selected to the Conference Carolinas Baseball All-Defensive Team for 2026.
The 10-player squad was voted on by the conference coaches and included each position on the field and a utility player.
Bussey III, a native of Graniteville, S.C., posted a .990 fielding percentage with just two errors all season while playing four different positions on the field. He recorded 201 putouts and was involved in 13 double plays. It marked a second-straight year Bussey III earned All-Defensive Team honors after earning the award at first base in 2025.
At the plate, he boasts a .476 batting average with 19 homers, 19 doubles 73 runs batted in, and 106 runs scored (an NCAA Division II record). Bussey III also has 39 stolen bases while boasting an .854 slugging percentage and a .597 on-base percentage.
A native of West Hartford, Conn., Hussey held an impressive .991 fielding percentage with one error and three outfield assists after serving as the primary center fielder for the nationally-ranked Patriots.
He produced a .318 batting average with 12 doubles, four homers, 37 runs batted in, 41 runs scored, and 11 stolen bases.
The duo helped lead Francis Marion to a program record 42 wins in a single-season and a second-place finish in the Conference Carolinas regular season. The Patriots are on the verge of ending a 14-year hiatus from the NCAA Tournament with their first appearance since 2012.
Bussey III is a graduate of Aquinas High School and is majoring in sport management. Hussey is a product of St. Thomas More High School and is pursuing a degree in business.
