HARTSVILLE, SC – Francis Marion University lost a 4-0 road decision to Coker University, Thursday (March 5) in non-conference men's tennis action.
 
Francis Marion (2-4) will open Conference Carolinas play on Friday, March 13, when the Patriots host Belmont Abbey College.
 
In doubles play, FMU freshman Boris van Ruiten and junior Alexandre Frigout were victorious at the No.1 position by a 7-5 score, but Coker won the other two doubles matches, by 7-6 (7-5) and 6-4 tallies, to earn the doubles point and a 1-0 lead.
 
The Cobras (6-3) clinched the match with three singles wins: in three sets at No.2 and in straight sets at No.3 and No.6.
 
Francis Marion was leading at singles slots No.4 and 5 when the match was halted.
