ANDERSON, SC – Francis Marion University won four straight singles matches to erase a 2-0 deficit as the Patriots rallied for a 4-3 road victory over Anderson University (SC), Saturday evening (Feb. 21) in non-conference men's tennis action.
 
Francis Marion improves to 2-1 and will host Augusta University on Saturday (Feb. 28) at 1 p.m. for its home opener.
 
Anderson (6-2) won all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.  The margin increased to 2-0 with a straight-sets win at No.1 singles.
 
Francis Marion began its comeback when freshman Viktor Viraghalmi rallied for a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory at No.2 singles.  Patriot junior Alexandre Frigout evened the match at 2-2 when he won at No.3 singles by a 6-3, 6-0 decision. 
 
Freshman Boris van Ruiten gave FMU a 3-2 lead with a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 win at No.4 singles, and junior Alexander Mirkov completed the come-back win with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at the No.6 spot.
