Francis Marion University sophomore first baseman Charlie Bussey III has been named to the D2 Baseball 2025 All-America Team as a second-team selection.  It is the fourth time this post season, the Graniteville, S.C., native has garnered All-America recognition.

Bussey III batted a Conference Carolinas-leading .437 with 19 doubles, 11 home runs, and 65 runs batted in.  He scored 65 runs in only 52 games and led the conference in on-base percentage (.545), slugging percentage (.721), and OPS (1.266).  He stole 15 bases in 22 attempts, recorded 27 multi-hit games and 18 multi-RBI contests, and safely reached base in 46 of 52 games. In the field, he committed only five errors in 379 fielding chances for a .987 percentage.

In the final NCAA national statistical rankings, he ranked 11th in on-base percentage, 12th in batting, 37th in hits, 38th in RBIs, 41st in doubles and slugging, and 52nd in runs scored.

Named the Conference Carolinas' Player of the Year for 2025, he helped lead Francis Marion to a 40-13 record, its best campaign since 2012, and to a share of the conference regular-season crown.

Bussey III is a sports management major and a product of Aquinas High School.
