Francis Marion University senior left-handed pitcher
Rijnaldo Euson earned National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) third-team All-America honors, while sophomore first baseman
Charlie Bussey III garnered honorable mention All-America recognition.
Euson, a native of Haines City, Fla., posted an 11-3 pitching mark this season with one save and a 3.20 earned run average. He logged 98.1 innings, allowed only 77 hits, fanned 114 batters, and held opponents to a .211 batting average against. He also registered seven complete games and two shutouts.
In the latest NCAA national statistical rankings, he is fourth in strikeouts and complete games, sixth in wins, and 28th in fewest hits allowed per nine innings (7.05). He led Conference Carolinas in wins, strikeouts, innings pitched, and opponents' batting average against, and was third in ERA.
It is the second time Euson has been named an All-American as he was a second-team selection in 2024 while pitching at Georgia Southwestern State University. Earlier this season, Euson was named the Southeast Region Pitcher of the Year and Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Year.
Bussey III, a native of Graniteville, S.C., batted a conference-leading .437 with 19 doubles, 11 home runs, and 65 runs batted in. He scored 65 runs in only 52 games and registered a .545 on-base percentage and a .721 slugging percentage. He stole 15 bases in 22 attempts, recorded 27 multi-hit games and 18 multi-RBI contests, and safely reached base in 46 of 52 games. In the field, he committed only five errors in 379 fielding chances for a .987 percentage.
He ranks 11th in both batting and on-base percentage in the national NCAA stats, and is 30th in hits, 35th in RBIs, tied for 39th in doubles, 41st in slugging, and 43rd in runs scored. In addition to leading the conference in hitting, he also ranked first in slugging, on-base percentage, and OPS (1.266).
The pair helped lead Francis Marion to a 40-13 record, its best campaign since 2012, and to a share of the Conference Carolinas regular-season crown.
Euson is an elementary education major and a graduate of Haines City Senior High School, while Bussey III is a sports management major and a product of Aquinas High School.
