Caleb Oakley, senior right fielder
Austin Bunn, senior second baseman
Owen Taylor, senior center fielder
Will Dorrell, and junior third baseman
Jimmy Koza all had one hit respectively.
Senior right-handed pitcher
Daemon Woodruff (1-2) was awarded his first win after one inning pitched, a perfect 1-2-3 sixth inning with two strikeouts. Freshman left-handed hurler
Jackson Madden made his first collegiate start as a Patriot, pitching two innings and allowing three hits with three strikeouts.
Samuel Choate (0-1) was tagged with the loss after 1.1 innings of work, while allowing two hits and four runs.
Mike Morrison led Augusta (8-22) with two runs scored, two hits, and two RBIs.
Bussey III also successfully extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a base hit in the first frame. Two back-to-back walks for the Patriots loaded the bases and the Bussey III reached home on a wild pitch for a 1-0 lead.
Although Augusta knotted the score at 1-1 in the top of the second, Francis Marion widened the margin to 6-1 with five runs in the second inning. That outburst included an RBI-triple by Oakley, a run-scoring single by Bussey III, and a two-run single by Stout.
The Jaguars were able to cut the five-run gap in half at 6-3 as Roland Chance and Matthew Thigpen scored.
Francis Marion then put the Jaguars back in a five-run deficit in the bottom of the third. Junior catcher
Dariel Villaran Goundis led off with a walk, stole second, and advanced to third as Koza doubled into the gap in right field. A walk to Oakley loaded the bases yet again, and Bussey III singled to score both Koza and Villaran Goundis for an 8-3 advantage.
A home run by Nolan Turner made it a three-run game as the Jaguars scored twice to trail 8-5. The Patriots answered with an insurance run in the bottom of the fourth to lead 9-5 before both teams went scoreless until the bottom of the seventh.
Dorrell led off the top of the seventh with a double to pose a threat early in the frame. With two outs against the Patriots, Dorrell stole third base and was able to cross home plate on a throwing error by Augusta's catcher to widen the margin to 10-5.
Despite the Jaguars fighting back within three runs, 10-7, in the top of the eighth, the Patriots posted an additional two runs in the lower half of the eighth for a 12-7 lead that proved insurmountable.
Both Bussey III and Dorrell extended their steaks of safely reaching base to 22 games.
