FLORENCE, SC – Francis Marion University junior guard-forward
Trinity Adams has been selected to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Women's Basketball All-Southeast Region Team.
The Rock Hill, S.C., native was a second-team selection. Adams is currently leading FMU in both scoring (14.3 ppg) and rebounding (7.5 rpg) as the Patriots prepare for the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
Fourth-seeded Francis Marion (23-6) will face fifth-seeded Columbus State University (20-8) in a first-round contest on Friday (March 14) at 7:30 p.m. at the Southeast Regional in Dahlonega, Ga.
Adams has connected on 38.6 percent of her field goal attempts and is shooting 76.5 percent at the free throw stripe. She is also handing out 2.6 assists per game and has pilfered 1.6 steals per contest, while averaging 31.5 minutes per game.
She has scored in double figures in 25 games this season, including five 20-point outings. She is 49 points shy of becoming the 32nd Patriot to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
She was a first-team Conference Carolinas All-Conference Team selection this season and garnered conference All-Defensive Team recognition as well. She was named the conference Player of the Week three times and the Defensive Player of the Week once.
Adams is a product of South Pointe High School and is majoring in business.
