GREENWOOD, SC – Lander University defeated Francis Marion University 6-1, Saturday afternoon (March 1) in non-conference men's tennis action.
 
Francis Marion drops to 3-2.  The Patriots will host Belmont Abbey College on Friday, March 7, at 3 p.m. in a non-conference match-up.
 
The FMU doubles team of seniors Austin Vienna and Harri Lloyd-Evans were victorious 6-4 at the No.2 position, but the Bearcats (6-1) won the other two matches to earn the doubles point and a 1-0 advantage.
 
Lander won the first five singles matches to finish in straight sets.  Lloyd-Evans accounted for the lone FMU point with a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) win at the No.3 position.
