Croskey named Conference Player of the Week

For the second time this season, Francis Marion University sophomore point guard Kiara Croskey has been named the Conference Carolinas women's basketball Offensive Player of the Week, this time for the week of Dec. 1-7.

A native of Sumter, S.C., Croskey registered team-highs of 23 points and seven rebounds in a come-from-behind 80-69 win over Anderson University in FMU's only action last week.  The victory extended the Patriots' winning streak to five games.  She connected on 8-of-13 field goal attempts and was 6-of-7 at the foul line, while also handing out four assists and making two steals with no turnovers in 36 minutes of action.

For the season, Croskey ranks second in the conference in scoring at 18.3 points per game.  She also leads the league in steals (3.8 per game), is second in assists per game (4.5), sixth in assists-to-turnovers ratio (1.0), eighth in free throw accuracy (.811), ninth in total field goal percentage (.451), 12th in rebounding (7.2 rpg), and 15th in minutes played (33.0 mpg).

Francis Marion (5-1) will play its next four contests on the road, beginning with Tuesday's (Dec. 9) match-up at USC Aiken.  Tip-off is set for noon.

The next home game for the Patriots will be a New Year's Eve contest against Carson-Newman University at noon.

Croskey is majoring in healthcare administration and is a product of Sumter High School.
