Jordyn Surratt recorded a new career high of 25 points, while connecting on 10-of-17 shots from the floor, but Francis Marion University fell 106-86 on the road to Chowan University, Wednesday (Jan. 29) night in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action.
The Patriots (7-12, 5-6) will return to the court on Saturday (Feb. 1) to face off against Belmont Abbey College at 4 p.m. in Belmont, N.C.
Surratt also paced the Patriots with 10 rebounds to record his sixth double-double of the season and fourth in a row.

Ramez Zayed fell one shy of tying his career high as he registered 14 points, while dishing out three assists. Senior forward
Ibrahim Wattara contributed 11 points and eight of the team's total 32 rebounds.
The final Patriot to score in double digits was junior guard
Jordan Simpson with 10 points.
Damerius Summers scored 17 points on 5-of-9 from the floor and 7-of-7 from the free throw line to lead the Hawks (11-6, 8-3).
Tied at 6-6 within the first five minutes, the Hawks began to pull ahead by putting up four points to lead 10-6 at the 15:31 mark. Chowan continued to widen the margin to 18-10 with 12:35 left on the clock.
Trailing 22-13, eight consecutive points from Zayed helped FMU knot the score at 22-22. Another nine-point burst from Chowan left Francis Marion University behind 31-22. With 2:55 left in the first half, the Hawks held an advantage of 45-26.
The teams went into halftime as the Hawks led 53-29.
Two minutes into the second half, Francis Marion fell behind the Hawks 60-35. By the 10:03 mark, Chowan had opened the gap to a score of 79-53. This lead gave the Hawks enough room to coast for the remainder of the game.
