Box Score FLORENCE, SC – Francis Marion University built a 2-0 first-half advantage and then held off visiting Barton College to claim a 2-1 victory on Wednesday night (Sept. 25) in Conference Carolinas men's soccer play as FMU remained unbeaten in its last six matches.
Francis Marion improves to 4-1-2 overall and 3-0-0 in conference action. The Patriots will play at conference newcomer Shorter University on Saturday at 1 p.m.

After being held to just one shot in the opening 45 minutes, Barton trimmed the margin to 2-1 when Kai Thurston headed in a service from Jeremy Alvarez in the 54th minute.
The Bulldogs managed only one more shot in the contest and it was wide to the right of the goal.
FMU held a commanding 14-4 advantage in shots and the Patriots took six corner kicks to the Bulldogs' three. Buelga led Francis Marion with four shots, while Salazar had three.
