Gilmore Jr. wins hot shot and places third in dunks

Francis Marion University senior forward Marlow Gilmore Jr. had a memorable night on Thursday (April 4) at the 2024 State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships hosted in Grand Canyon University's Global Credit Union Arena and televised live on ESPN.

Gilmore Jr. (right) teamed with Jack Gohlke (left) of Oakland University and Unique Drake (middle) of St. John's University to win the Dave's Hot Chicken Hot Shot Challenge with a perfect performance (7 of 7).  Gilmore Jr. contributed the opening lay-up, a three-pointer, and drained the trio's first attempt from half-court to win the title, easily surpassing the second-place time by 37 seconds.  The contest led off the program, and followed a promotion video for Dave's Hot Chicken that also featured the trio.
