Kollin Crepeau were the only two Patriots to record a hit as Erskine College downed Francis Marion University 8-0 in Conference Carolinas league action on Friday (Apr. 5) night.
 
Francis Marion will continue the three-game series against Erskine on Saturday (Apr. 6) afternoon with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. in Sparrow Stadium.

Chas DeBruhl now has an overall record of 3-5 after taking the loss. Erskine's freshman righty Alex Heintz (6-3) and right-handed reliever Caleb Dix combined for the nine shutout innings, with Dix posting his first save of the 2024 season.
 
The Flying Fleet jumped to an early lead in the top of the first inning as they scored four runs. Innings two and three went scoreless for both teams.
 
A three-run home run from first baseman Dale Francis Jr. in the fourth and a solo shot by Jorge Pascual in the sixth accounted for the final score.
