Patriot Baseball falls to Bearcats

GREENWOOD, SC – Francis Marion University dropped a non-conference contest at Lander University 24-7 on Tuesday (March 12) in baseball action.
 
Francis Marion (13-9) will return to Conference Carolinas play this weekend with a three-game series at Barton College in Wilson, N.C.   The teams will play a single game on Saturday at 2 p.m. and a doubleheader on Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
Junior designated hitter Noah Stout led the Patriots with three hits, including a second-inning home.  Senior left fielder Zack Summerville collected two hits, while seven other Patriots had one hit apiece, including senior infielder Blake Falor's two-run single in the sixth inning.
 
FMU junior right-hander Tyler Gall (1-2) started and took the loss.
 
Catcher Logan Kobis paced Lander (15-8) at the plate with four hits, including a double and three RBIs.  Freshman southpaw Jake Larson (1-0) earned the win on the mound.
