Sebastian Garcia scored a first-half goal and following a second-half penalty kick by Wingate University, the two sides would settle for a 1-1 deadlock, Wednesday night (Sept. 13) in non-conference men's soccer play.

FMU (1-1-2) will return to Conference Carolinas on Saturday afternoon when the Patriots host King University for a 2:30 p.m. kick-off.

Wingate led in both shots, 13-8, and corner kicks, 7-4, but the Patriots led in time of possession 54 percent to 46 percent.

Felipe Ramos Peralta recorded four saves, while his counterpart Marcus Munby had two saves – both in the second half.

Garcia tallied his unassisted score at the 21:04 mark. Primarily a defender during his time at FMU, it was his third career goal.

The Bulldogs (2-2-1) knotted the score at 1-1 in the 55th minute when Pablo Pozos converted a penalty kick following a Patriot foul in the box.
