Two members of the Francis Marion University women's soccer team – sophomore forward Kristina Syragakis and graduate student midfielder Jen Bartlett – have been selected to the 2024 Conference Carolinas All-Conference squad that was announced on Thursday (Nov. 9).

Syragakis was tabbed for the first team and Bartlett was a second-team selection.

A native of Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, Canada, Syragakis started all 17 matches and led the team in scoring with 14 goals and seven assists.  Both totals ranked third in the conference as did her point total (35).  She also led FMU with 42 shots, three of her scores were match-winners, and she was a perfect 5-for-5 from the penalty spot.  Her goal total equals the sixth highest season total in program history and is the most by a Patriot in 16 seasons.

Bartlett, a native of Albany, N.Y., started 16 matches and tallied three goals and 11 shots.  Her distribution in the midfield was key to the Patriots' success this season.

This pair has helped first-year head coach Sam Holmes' squad to an 8-5-4 mark this year, a second-place finish in the East Division standings, and the third seed in the Conference Carolinas Tournament.  FMU will face second-seeded Belmont Abbey College in a semifinal match on Friday (Nov. 10) at 7 p.m. at the Truist Soccer Complex at Bryan Park in Browns Summit, N.C.

Single-day admission to the tournament is $8.  Tickets may be purchased at https://conferencecarolinas.com/sports/2020/7/12/GEN_0712200357.aspx   No cash ticket sales will be available on site.  All faculty, staff, and students at Conference Carolinas member institutions are admitted free with identification.

The title match is set for Sunday at 4 p.m.
