Women's Soccer

FMU’s Dave’, Grabeel, and Alana Hunt named All-Americans

Following one of the best seasons in program history, three members of the Francis Marion University women's soccer team earned All-America honors this week.  Senior forward Tehya Dave' and junior goalkeeper Erin Grabeel were both placed on the United Soccer Coaches first-team All-America squad, while sophomore defender Alana Hunt has been named to both the United Soccer Coaches and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-America Teams as a second-team honoree.

FMU's three selections equal the most from any one school (joining Cal Poly Pomona) on United Soccer Coaches' three-team 36-member group of honorees.  It also marks the second consecutive year that a Patriot has been honored with All-American recognition.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Dave' led Conference Carolinas with 34 total points, which ranks 12th in NCAA Division II. She tied for the league lead with 13 goals, while dishing out eight assists in 20 matches. Dave' paced the conference and ranks seventh nationally with six game-winning goals in 2025. Additionally, she sits 10th in NCAA Division II and led the conference with 2.20 shots on goal per match.

A two-time first-team all-conference selection and a two-time All-Region pick, Dave' was also the conference's 2025 Offensive Player of the Year and was named to the conference's All-Tournament Team.  Dave' season-point total was 10th best in program history, while she stands tied for 12th all-time with 22 career goals at FMU.

Grabeel, a native of Gordonsville, Va., ranks third in Division II with 14 shutouts and is sixth in goals against average (0.403) after playing all but 14 minutes this season.  She conceded just eight goals while collecting 39 saves. Grabeel posted the sixth-longest shutout streak in NCAA Division II women's soccer history at 1157:16 scoreless minutes, which stretched over 14 matches. She is a two-time all-conference selection and was the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week a league-high three times in 2025.

A native of Swindon, England, Hunt played in front of Grabeel and anchored one of the top defensive units in Division II.  She started all 20 matches and tallied the most minutes of any field player with 1,725 while contributing two goals and an assist with 13 shots. Hunt is a two-time All-Conference Carolinas selection and was the league's 2025 Defensive Player of the Year.

As a team, the Patriots are tied for the top spot nationally in shutout percentage (0.750) and rank fourth in goals against average (0.400). FMU held its opponents to just 6.8 shots per match and only 2.5 shots on goal per contest.  The eight goals is the lowest season total allowed by the Patriots in the 31-year history of the program.  In addition to Grabeel' scoreless streak, add another 14 minutes on that she did not play to produce Francis Marion's school-record scoreless streak of 1171:12.

The trio helped lead the Patriots to a 17-3-0 record, matching the most wins in a single season in team history. Francis Marion's 14-0-0 start was its best ever. FMU won the Conference Carolinas East Division title, secured the top seed in the conference tournament, and garnered its second straight NCAA Tournament bid and fourth in program history.

The three become the fourth, fifth, and sixth All-Americans in the 31-year history of the FMU program, joining Kristina Syragakis (first-team in 2024), Katie Roberts (second-team in 2000 and third-team in 2002) and Katie Riley (third-team in 2004).

Dave' is a graduate of North Catholic High School and is pursuing her bachelor's degree in marketing and finance. Hunt is majoring in psychology and is a product of Hartpury College, while Grabeel is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering and is a product of Shattuck-St. Mary's School in Minnesota.
