MARS HILL, NC – Mars Hill University posted two second-half goals in the 54th and 62nd minutes to secure a come-from-behind 2-1 non-conference win over Francis Marion University, Wednesday evening (Sept. 14) in non-conference women's soccer play.
The Patriots (1-3-2) conclude their three-game road trip on Sunday (Sept. 18) against Lees-McRae College at 2 p.m. FMU will return home to face the University of Mount Olive on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
Mars Hill outshot the Patriots 13-7, with four Patriot tries being on target. The Lions (3-2-0) registered five shots on goal.
Forward
Kylie Reif put away the Patriots' lone goal in the 50th minute, her first collegiate score. It came from a
Le'Landra Jarvis pass. Jarvis now leads the Patriots with two assists.
The Lions answered quickly, with one goal coming in the 54th minute from Kenzie Quinley and the other coming in the 62nd minute from Zoie Steinkamp.
Forwards Reif and
Valentina Restrepo led the Patriots with two shots each, with Reif putting one on frame and Restrepo supplying two. Jarvis, defender

Linsey Downey each registered one shot, with Downey's attempt being on-goal.
Goalkeeper
Makayla Willets registered three saves in the match, with two coming in the first half. Mars Hill's Camryn Miller ended the match with three saves as well.
The Lions would be awarded the only three corner kicks in the match.
