FLORENCE, SC – Fourteenth-ranked Flagler College scored the game's opening 12 points and never trailed, taking an 85-63 Peach Belt Conference victory over Francis Marion University, Saturday afternoon (Feb. 27) in men's basketball play.
 
The Patriots conclude their abbreviated 2021 season with a 3-11 mark.
 
Sophomore forward Jamal Edmonson came off the Patriot bench to register season-highs of 12 points and six rebounds, while freshman guard Ja'Von Anderson equaled his career high of 11 points.  Junior forward Uhana Ochan tallied 10 points and seven rebounds, while sophomore forward Darius Dawson added nine points and nine rebounds.  Junior guard Alex Cox and 7-0 freshman center Julius Raudonius each scored eight.
 
Jaizec Lottie led five Flagler players in double figures with 16.
 
After the game-opening run, FMU did cut the deficit below 10 twice, but the margin was 42-23 at halftime.
 
A fast-break dunk by Cox, a three-pointer by Raudonius, and free throws by Ochan and Edmonson constituted a 7-0 Francis Marion rally that pulled the Patriots to within 49-37 with 15:07 left in the game.  Flagler (13-2, 11-1) answered with a pair of three-pointers and the margin would not dip under 15 points for the remainder of the game.
 
Francis Marion shot 32.3 percent from the floor, including 10-of-30 from behind the arc, and hit 13-of-20 free throws.  Flagler drained 50 percent of its shots, including 15-of-35 from long range, and was 4-of-11 at the line.
