FLORENCE, SC – Despite two wins each by sophomore
Hermon Mikael and sophomore
Viktoria Leth, visiting Lenoir-Rhyne University defeated the Francis Marion University women's tennis team 5-2, Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 17) in non-conference play at the Dr. Eddie Floyd/Florence Tennis Center.

Francis Marion will host a pair of non-conference matches this weekend, both at the on-campus Kassab Courts. The Patriots will entertain local-rival Coker College on Saturday at 11 a.m. and Barton College on Sunday at noon.

In women's action, Lenoir-Rhyne took the doubles point despite Mikael and Leth sweeping to a 6-0 victory at the No.1 spot.

In singles play, Mikael earned a straight-sets 6-3, 6-3 win at No.2 and Leth was victorious 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 at No.3. However, the Bears won the other singles matches to account for the final margin.

Mikael has lost only once in 12 singles matches during her short time as a Patriot.
