AMERICUS, GA – Despite placing three scorers in double figures, Francis Marion University lost a 77-51 decision to Georgia Southwestern State University, Monday (Jan. 20) afternoon in Peach Belt Conference men's basketball action.

FMU returns to campus for two home contests this weekend: Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. against Georgia College and Saturday at 1:30 p.m. against Flagler College.

Freshman forward Jamal Edmonson led the Patriots with 16 points on 8-of-13 shooting. It is his third consecutive double-digit scoring effort and fourth in the past six games.  Sophomore center Winston Hill followed with 15 points and seven rebounds, while senior point guard Jaquez Smith added 13 points and five assists.

Kahlon Whitley and Jalen Cameron shared the Georgia Southwestern scoring honors with 17 points apiece.
