ST. AUGUSTINE, FL – Sara Davis provided the match-clinching kill as Flagler College held off visiting Francis Marion University for a four-set win (25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 25-23), Friday night (Nov. 11) in Peach Belt Conference women's volleyball action.

Francis Marion remains in fourth place in the PBC standings, but drops to 15-11 – seeing its four-match winning streak snapped – and 9-8 in the conference.  The Patriots will conclude their regular-season schedule on Saturday with a road match at Armstrong State University at 2 p.m.

The Peach Belt Tournament will be held Nov. 18-20 at Georgia College in Milledgeville, Ga.

Sophomore Georgia Garrison led FMU with 15 kills and 13 digs for her team-leading 14 double-double of the season.  Senior Caroline Boone, junior Erika Hartings, and freshman Lenee' Blot all tallied 11 kills with Boone and Blot also adding four blocks apiece.  Freshman setter Kaitlyn Ziegelmaier handed out 43 assists, while freshman libero Natalie Vaughn registered 11 digs and three service aces.  Junior Shelbi Meek dug up 12 balls.

Davis paced the Saints (18-6, 14-2) with 16 kills, while Ashley Cheewah chipped in 15 kills.  Setter Tara Savisky dished out 58 assists and libero Kayla Norelli recorded a match-high 17 digs.

Flagler broke an 11-11 deadlock in the opening set with a 9-2 spurt and went on to take the early advantage.  Francis Marion evened the match with a set-two victory.  Two kills by Boone and kills from Garrison and Blot helped snap a 21-21 tie.

The Saints used a 10-4 run to break a 9-9 deadlock in set three.  In the fourth and final set, the score was knotted at 20-20, but Flagler ran off three straight points.  FMU climbed to within 24-23 on a kill by Boone, but Davis ended the contest with her spike.
