Box Score SAVANNAH, GA – Pre-season conference favorite Armstrong State University defeated Francis Marion University 25-13, 25-14, 25-16 on Friday evening (Sept. 25) in Peach Belt Conference women's volleyball action.
Francis Marion (8-4, 2-2) will conclude its PBC southern trip with a 2 p.m. match at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla., on Saturday afternoon. The next home match for the Patriots will be Oct. 2 against local Peach Belt rival UNC Pembroke.
Junior Caroline Boone led FMU with eight kills, while sophomore Meagan Fajman added six kills. Sophomore libero Shelbi Meek dug up a team-high 10 balls, while junior setter Samantha Hinrichs handed out 12 assists and had seven digs and freshman setter Carrie McGinnis dished out six helpers.
Anna McGee paced the Pirates (5-4, 1-0) with 10 kills and five blocks, while Raegan Grooms registered 18 digs and three service aces.
