WINGATE, NC – Freshman Carlos Oliver led Francis Marion University runners as the Patriots placed 20th at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championship Cross Country Meet on Saturday morning (Nov. 7).
Oliver placed 78th with a time of 36:42.7 over the 10,000-meter course. Sophomores Javier Bustos Jaimes and Devin Nelson were the next Patriot runners, placing 90th (37:08.2) and 111th (37:51.9) respectively.
Freshman and Darlington native Brandon Boggs finished 121st with a time of 38:19, while sophomore Jonathan Reid placed 144th (40:01.7), freshman Darlington native Joshua Rosario was 147th (40:26.4), and junior Latta native Jeremiah Hayes was 152nd (41:32.5).
The University of Mount Olive easily outdistanced second place Mars Hill University 52-89 to claim the team championship.
