Young Harris, Ga. (Feb. 15, 2014) – Young Harris College went on a 20-0 first-half run and cruised to a 72-53 victory over Francis Marion University, Saturday afternoon in Peach Belt Conference women's basketball action.

FMU falls to 11-10 overall and 6-9 in PBC play. The Patriots will be back in action Sunday afternoon at the University of North Georgia for a 1:30 p.m. tipoff.

Senior forward Dee Gray led the Patriots with 15 points and eight rebounds. Senior guard Erin Pinkett added 10 points off the bench, while junior forward Alexia Bell chipped in seven points and two rebounds.

Young Harris (15-4, 10-2) was led by Chan Fann, who recorded a game-high 17 points. Peyton Robinson chipped in 12 points, while LaDondra Johnson added 14 points and eight rebounds.

After a quick 5-0 run, the Patriots trailed the Mountain Lions 20-15 with 8:10 to play in the first half. However, the Patriots only scored one point for the rest of the half, and Young Harris' 20-0 run saw its lead sit at 40-16 at the break.

FMU ended the game on a 7-1 run, which helped close the margin to 18 at one point (71-53), but that was as close as the Patriots would get in the second half.

The Patriots out-rebounded the Mountain Lions 38-32, however Young Harris scored 30 points off 28 FMU miscues. Francis Marion did shoot 40 percent from three-point range compared to 30 percent for Young Harris.
