Box Score COLUMBUS, GA – The Francis Marion University volleyball squad lost to Columbus State University 25-11, 26-24, 25-16, Saturday afternoon (Nov. 8) in the Patriots' regular-season Peach Belt Conference finale.
Francis Marion finishes its regular-season schedule with a 9-19 overall mark and a 5-13 conference record. The Patriots will play at nationally ranked Armstrong State University in the first round of the PBC Tournament on Tuesday.
Junior Alexzandra Reed paced the Patriots with 11 kills, while sophomore Caroline Boone added six kills and three service aces. Senior setter Sloane Shank dished out 22 assists and junior libero Jessica Amador recorded 17 digs.
Katie Poole led CSU (14-14, 9-9) with 10 kills and eight digs.
The tightly contested second set featured six ties and three lead changes. FMU led by as many as four points and the game was deadlocked at 24-24 before CSU closed out the set with a pair of kills.
