AUGUSTA, GA -- Caroline Boone and Alexzandra Reed combined to give Francis Marion 15 kills and Chiquita Rivers led all players with seven blocks, but the Patriots fell at the hands of conference volleyball foe Georgia Regents University at Augusta Friday night in straight sets (18-25, 32-34, 16-25).

Francis Marion moves to 4-9 overall and 2-3 in PBC play while GRU Augusta improves its overall record to 13-4 with a 4-2 mark in conference. FMU will stay in the state of Georgia to face Georgia College on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. for another key PBC match up.

Reed recorded eight kills on the evening for the Patriots to lead all FMU players. She also pulled out 11 digs, one dig shy of Jessica Amador's team best of 12.

Senior setter Sloane Shank led the Patriots with 24 assists.

GRU Augusta's Kristen Koch recorded the match's only double-double with 14 kills and 14 digs. Jaguar setter Alyssa Latham also led all players with 35 assists on the night.

After dropping the first set by a score of 18-25, Francis Marion rallied in the second set and battled to take the set into extra points. The Patriots and Jaguars went back and forth to decide a winner but GRU Augusta finally took a 32-34 win and a commanding two-set lead.
