CHARLOTTE, NC – Junior Alexzandra Reed posted a double-double with 17 kills and 10 digs and Francis Marion University rallid after losing the opening-set to claim an 18-25, 26-24, 25-13, 25-22 non-conference win over Queens University of Charlotte, Saturday night (Oct. 25) in women's volleyball action.

FMU picks up its second road victory in as many nights to improve to 8-15.  The Patriots will play host to Lander University for the squad's annual Sea of Red Match on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Smith University Center.

Reed was the lone Patriot with double-figure kills.  Freshman Shelby Schindler registered a career-high eight kills and sophomore Chiquita Rivers added seven.

Francis Marion senior setter Sloane Shank handed out 37 assists, while for the second night in a row, junior libero Jessica Amador established a new career-high for digs, this time with 26.

Rebecca Cochran led Queens (6-20) with 10 kills and eight digs. 

After losing the first set, FMU and Queens battled through a tight second set – one that saw 11 ties and three lead changes.  Queens served for the set holding a 24-23 lead, but FMU used an attack error by the Royals, a kill by Schindler, and a blocked attack by Schindler and Rivers to win 26-24 and even the match.

FMU never trailed in either set three or four.  Queens did close to within 22-21 in the fourth set, but the Patriots held on for the win.
