AIKEN, SC - Led by a productive hitting afternoon from junior middleblocker Megan Mooney, Francis Marion University split a pair of three-set volleyball matches on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 29).

Francis Marion (9-5, 1-2) lost a Peach Belt Conference match to USC Aiken, 25-14, 25-17, 25-20, and then immediately returned to the court and swept Clark Atlanta University 25-10, 25-9, 25-20.

Against USCA, Mooney finished with a team-high 11 kills, while hitting .474.  Junior setter Kailey Smith dished out 15 assists, while both Liz Drewry and Meghan Peji recorded nine digs apiece.

In the victory over CAU, Drewry pounded out 10 kills, while Mooney had eight kills in 10 swings with a .700 attack percentage and also served five aces.

Smith and sophomore setter Sloan Shank each handed out 15 assists, while Peji dug up a team-best nine balls.

The Patriots return home to host Flagler College on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Smith University Center.
