GREENWOOD, SC - Despite double-doubles from four different Patriots, Francis Marion University lost a marathon Peach Belt Conference match to Lander University 25-22, 19-25, 27-29, 25-16, 15-13, Friday night (Sept. 28) in volleyball action.

Francis Marion (8-4, 1-1) was led by senior Liz Drewry with 16 kills and 13 digs, while junior Jessica Imbimbo registered 14 kills and  17 digs.  Junior setter Kailey Smith handed out a season-high 55 assists and dug up 14 digs, while sophomore libero Megan Peji had 26 digs. Junior Paige Perreault added eight kills and  15 digs.

FMU rallied from a 13-10 deficit in set five to knot the match at 13-13, but Lander claimed the next two points and the win.

Kaitlyn Harrison (18 kills, 19 digs) and Jessica Register (46 assists, 15 digs) paced Lander (5-7, 1-0).

The Patriots will travel to Aiken on Saturday to face USC Aiken at 2 p.m. and Clark Atlanta University at 4 p.m.
