COLUMBIA, SC – Both the Francis Marion University men's and women's cross country teams placed fourth at the Columbia International University Invitational Meet, held Saturday morning (Sept. 22) on the CIU campus.
Junior Whitney Wagner paced the FMU women as she finished second in the individual standings with a 5,000-meter time of 22:21. Freshman Hannah Muzzillo also recorded a Top-10 finish as she placed sixth in 24:07. Freshman Dani Velasquez finished 17th with a time of 26:08, while junior London Barnhill was 21st (26:41), junior Diana Levy was 26th (27:30), and sophomore Kasey Bradley was 31st (28:41).
Senior Ian Wallace again led the FMU men as he completed the 8,000-meter course in 28:41 to place third. Freshman Guy McCarter (31:10) and sophomore Justin Koehn (32:15) both recorded Top-20 finishes as they placed 15th and 20th respectively. Sophomore Alex McIntosh was 26th (34:29) and freshman Conner McGraw was 28th (35:23).
Limestone College was the women's team title, while North Greenville College captured the men's championship.
Both Francis Marion squads will run in the Charlotte Invitational Meet on Friday afternoon.
