FLORENCE, SC – Junior guard Evrik Gary registered his second career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 11 rebounds, but it was not enough to propel Francis Marion University to a third straight win as the Patriots fell to Coker College 95-76, Sunday afternoon (Nov. 25) on the final day of the Zaxby's Tip-Off Clazzic.

In Sunday's first game, UNC Pembroke completed its visit to Florence with a second victory as the Braves (3-3) beat St. Andrews University 106-59.

Francis Marion (2-1) will return to the court on Tuesday evening as the Patriots host Barber-Scotia College at 7:30 p.m. as part of the annual Riot at the Rim doubleheader.  The FMU women will play at 5:30 p.m.

Sophomore swingman Dustin Jones followed Gary with 12 points and five assists, while sophomore point guard Clayton Williams added nine points.

The Patriots committed only 13 turnovers, but shot just 33.8 percent from the floor, including 12-of-41 from beyond the three-point arc.

Andrew Morris led Coker (1-3) with a career-high 37 points, including a school-record 11 three-point buckets. Junior Julian Nelson chipped in 19 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

The opening seven minutes featured seven ties.  Coker took the lead for good at 16-15 on a free throw by Teon Beckett with 12:56 left in the first stanza.  A 16-0 run by Coker expanded the margin to 42-24 with four minutes remaining in the half.  The Cobras took a 53-36 advantage into the locker room at intermission after shooting 60.6 percent from the field over the first 20 minutes.

Francis Marion would get no closer than 17 points in the second half.
