The Francis Marion University men's and women's cross country teams finished seventh and 10th respectively at the Hagan Stone Cross Country Classic Meet, held Saturday morning (Oct. 6).
Junior Whitney Wagner led the Patriot women with a Top-20 finish as she toured the 5,000-meter course in 21:15.54. Freshman Hannah Muzzillo was the next Patriot finisher in 45th position with a time of 22:39.32, followed by junior London Barnhill in 60th (23:51.39), junior Diana Levy in 75th (25:24.93), and sophomore Kasey Bradley in 84th (26:17.49).
Senior Ian Wallace continued his recent run of high finishes as he placed 13th with a time of 28:04.11 over the 8,000-meter men's course. Freshman Guy McCarter finished 20th with a time of 28:56.47, while sophomores Justin Koehn (29:54.92) and Justin Carter (30:12.21) placed 43rd and 47th respectively. Sophomore Alex McIntosh came in 67th (31:28.12), followed by freshman Connor McGraw in 69th (31:28.57) and junior Braylin Bloise in 87th (32:53.12).
The Duke University Club Team won the women's team title, while Howard Community College captured the men's team championship.
After a weekend off, the Francis Marion squads will head to the Peach Belt Conference Championship Meet in Montevallo, Ala., on Saturday, Oct. 20.
