FLORENCE, SC – Sophomore forward Antonio Reddic flirted with a triple-double as he registered 24 points, 10 assists, and seven steals to lead Chowan University past Francis Marion University 92-61, Saturday night (Nov. 19) in the final game of the 2011 Zaxby's Tip-Off Clazzic.

Coker College downed Morris College 78-62 in Saturday's opening contest.

Francis Marion drops to 2-2 overall.  The Patriots will play host to the Comfort Suites Classic next weekend, Nov. 26-27.  The Patriots will play Voorhees College on Saturday at 4 p.m., while St. Andrews University will play Bluefield College at 2 p.m.  On Sunday, Francis Marion will play Bluefield at 4 p.m. and St. Andrews will meet Voorhees at 2 p.m.

Sophomore guard Evrik Gary paced FMU with 15 points, while junior swingman Darryn Frazier came off the bench to tally 12 points.  Junior forward Zamarius McLendon added nine points and six rebounds.  Eleven of the 12 Patriots who played found their way into the scoring column.

Behind Reddic's effort, three other Chowan (2-3) players reached double figures.  Mark McGlone nearly posted a triple-double himself with 14 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds.  The Hawks recorded 31 assists on their 39 buckets.

Chowan scored the game's opening three points and never trailed.  The margin quickly grew to 22-4 following a three-pointer by James Davis with 12:55 left in the first half.  Francis Marion closed to within 24-12 and later 46-33 nearing intermission, but Mark Buright scored on a tip-in with one tick remaining to send the Hawks into the locker room with a 48-33 advantage.

A layup by Gary again trimmed the deficit to 13 at 50-37 early in the second stanza, but Chowan rattled off six straight points and was never threatened again.  The final score was the largest margin.

Chowan connected on 70 percent (21-of-30) of its field goal attempts in the second half and shot 67.2 percent for the game.
