AIKEN, SC - Francis Marion University had trouble getting things to go its way Saturday afternoon (Oct. 29) as the Patriots were swept by USC Aiken (25-16, 25-20, 25-22) in women's volleyball action at the Convention Center in Aiken, S.C.
The Patriots (10-16, 2-9 PBC) had a 14-13 lead in the opening game, before the Pacers (14-13, 6-5 PBC) reeled off a 12-2 run to close out the set.
Senior outside hitter Ashlee Crook paced Francis Marion with seven kills and 10 digs. Sophomore setter Nicole Bennett handed out 17 assists and senior libero Hallie Legg led FMU with 15 digs on the afternoon.
Leah Rodgers led USCA with 11 kills, while seniors Chelsey Kight added eight kills.
FMU continues its current road trip with a rematch at UNC Pembroke on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Patriots topped the Braves in three sets at home on September 28.
