FLORENCE, SC – Senior outside hitter Ashlee Crook recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 13 kills and 12 digs to lead Francis Marion University to a three-set sweep (25-10, 25-19, 25-16) of local-rival Coker College, Tuesday evening (Oct. 25) in women's college volleyball action.

Francis Marion improves to 10-14 with its third straight win and wins for the 49th time in 57 all-time meetings with the Cobras.  FMU will play a pair of Peach Belt Conference road matches this weekend: at Lander University on Friday night and at USC Aiken on Saturday afternoon.

The Patriots won while donning their pink jerseys on Dig Pink Night, dedicated to raising awareness of and funds for breast cancer.

Crook also registered three blocks, whileflawlessly handing 12 serve receptions.  Junior Liz Drewry followed Crook with eight kills.  Sophomore setter Nicole Bennett handed out 30 assists and senior libero Hallie Legg tallied a team-high 21 digs – her 10th match with at least 20 digs this season.

Sophomore Taylor Willis led Coker (8-15) with seven kills, while setter Samantha Celek dished out 24 assists.  Libero Brittany Bass matched Legg's total with 21 digs.

FMU scored the opening four points in set one and never trailed.  Coker jumped out to a 14-9 advantage in set two, but the Patriots rallied to knot the score at 17-17, and eventually scored seven of the set's final eight points to win 25-19.  Coker held a slight lead in set three until Francis Marion went ahead 13-9 following a 5-0 run.  Leading 15-13, FMU finished the match with a 10-3 spurt.
