GAFFNEY, SC
- Jack Bailey scored the first of his two goals only 1:03 into the
match and Limestone College went on to collect a 5-0 non-conference
victory over visiting Francis Marion University, Wednesday
afternoon (Sept. 8) in men's college soccer action.
Francis Marion (0-3-0) will return home
to play host to Anderson University on Saturday at 4 p.m. on
the FMU Soccer Field.
Bailey
scored off an assist from Mark Mitchell in the second minute to
give the Saints (2-1-0) an early lead they would not
relinquish.
Keegan Ziada scored an
unassisted goal in the 22nd minute as Limestone led 2-0 at
halftime. Bailey scored his second goal in the 55th minute
off a Ziada assist.
Limestone
outshot the Patriots 15-10, although FMU led in corner kicks
5-3. Francis Marion senior goalkeeper Clark Richeson
registered six saves, while H.B. Lockwood made six stops for
Limestone.
For the
third consecutive match, Francis Marion surrendered a penalty kick
goal.
Chuy Cruz and Chris Foltanski led Francis Marion with two shots
on goal.
