MOUNT OLIVE,
NC - Francis Marion University freshman forward Alex Blandin came
up with a loose ball, dribbled two-thirds of the field, and scored
the game-winning goal 8:21 into overtime as the Patriots defeated
Mount Olive College 2-1, Wednesday night (Sept. 22) in
non-conference men's college soccer action.
The Patriots
(1-5-1) now return home to play host to Peach Belt Conference
opponent Georgia Southwestern State University on Saturday at 3:30
p.m.
Mount Olive
took a 1-0 lead into halftime after Scott Mitchell scored in the
39th minute.
FMU senior
Julian Ramjohn tied the score at the 53:34 mark when he converted a
cross from freshman Shane McConlogue.
Mount Olive
held a slight 10-9 lead in shots, but Francis Marion senior
goalkeeper Clkark Richeson made three saves.
